NO SID'S

So we are slightly out of order here, but my sister practically cussed me out at Amy’s baby shower for not posting in a long time. Here you go Taryn; I’m posting our random Saturday in the meantime while I get all of the baby shower pictures worked up.

Anyways, here was the agenda:

  1. Go to Sid’s Diner in El Reno

  2. Hit the OKC Outlet Shoppes for maternity picture clothes

  3. Blue Angles at Stars & Stripes Airshow

  4. Red Brick Nights in Guthrie

We left the house around 11am to head out west and part way through the drive we decided to go to the mall first since we ate breakfast fairly late. I’ve scheduled a photoshoot with a couple of friends I have in Guthrie that do ambrotype photography (more on that later) so we wanted to get Amy a couple of outfits for the special event.

Shopping was a success, leaving was not. As you see by the radar, El Reno was dead center in the middle of Oklahoma’s crap 2019 spring weather. Rather than drive into 60mph winds and possible hail we decided to haul ass to downtown OKC to beat the incoming storm.

After one pit stop for Amy on the way there, we barely made it to a parking garage downtown to take cover before the storm hit.

So no Sid’s Diner…… Those of you that have experienced Sid’s know why I’m so sad over this. It’s Oklahoma’s original onion burger establishment and well worth the drive out to El Reno.

We rode out the storm for about an hour in the parking garage and luckily for us a couple blocks up the street was Joey’s Pizzeria. We had eaten there before and it was great.

Figured the Blue Angels would be cancelled due to the storms but found out they would be waiting out the storm. We hauled butt across town out to Tinker AFB. We lucked out and found a spot just on the north side of I-40 right off the runway. I don’t have any big zoom lenses so this is the best I could do. The Blue Angels haven’t been back to OKC in probably 10 years so this was pretty cool to watch.

At this point Amy was pretty worn out so I got her back home to rest. I decided to go close the day out strong and finished the night off at Red Brick Nights in Guthrie. Listened to some really good music and had an all around great day.

Thanks for stopping by!
